FF from a canoe

Does anyone out there fly fish from a canoe.  I just bought a 16'6" Bell Northwind.  I watched people do it on Baum Lake in CA and other places as well.  With the clamp on outriggers they are very stable.  I have a great pontoon boat, an Outcast 10' with graphite oars but frankly, I am tired of the set up chore, fins, cold water etc. 

I would like hear how you like it or not and your experiences.

I do it. I dont have outriggers but see how they could come in handy. its amazing how even a small fish can pull the canoe through the water while fighting it.

I don't own a canoe but I do fly fish out of my piroque. It is a lot fun fly fishing for Bass and Bluegill. I have also used it catfishing. Set the hook and hold on til they get tired.

      I thought that's why they made canoes.....for us fly rodders to get up and down the river.  I used a Grumman for years, then went to a kayak....gave it to my son two years ago and got a Nucanoe and absolutely love it(not that I didn't like the kayak).  I describe the Nucanoe as a hybrid canoe/SOT kayak/drift boat.

Had an Old Town years ago while in Colorado, great fishing on Horsetooth Res. Boy, that brings back memories.
