quick strips for 444
« on: March 06, 2010, 02:58:17 PM »
Anyone use em? I got some today for a 44 and they work great! Be handy for carrying extra ammo without em clankin around in your pocket.

Joe,
That is a very good idea. I never thought about using them for a rifle. I'll have to see about getting some for the .357.

I carry quick strips with my 38 and have for some time. Never even occured to me to get some for the 444. I was talkin to a buddy the other day who was buying some for his judge. He said he found some that would hold 410 shells and the light bulb went off! I think it will work out great!

I knew they sold them for the .357/.38 and the .44, but had never seen them for all the other calibers and just plain never thought to use them for the rifles. I just checked at Midway and here is a link to that page. $7.99 for two isn't all that bad.

When out hunting with my Encore pistol in .444, I bought one of those elastic shell holders that fit the stock of a rifle and had my wife cut it in half to make 2 - 3 shot holders and tighten it up with a few stiches.  I wear it on my forearm so after the first shot, I can open up the action and grab another shell and load it all w/o taking the gun off target.

I got the Idea from T/C, they sell one with a velcro adjustment, but I think it's about $12.00...I made 2 for $4.99

WOW, GREAT IDEA!!

Like a number of the guys I have used them for many years for the 38/357 but never thought of using them for the rifle!

You learn something new every day!! Thanks for sharing!!! ;)

I really like my 444's, but in a pistol?  Your forearms must be the size of my thighs ;D.  I'll stick with the rifles for some thing like that. ;)  DP

My Marlin lever in 444 beat me up, an Encore pistol with a brake is a pussycat, there's a lot of guys shooting bigger boomers than me.  By the way my fore arms are only average size for a 5'6"  160lb. guy. ;D
