Well done by the citizen.  Few people will intervene to that extent.  A real hero.  But he ought to get a 9mm now that he knows a .45 doesn't work all that well.

Wait... it just came to me.  The guy was obviously a zombie!  Everyone knows the only way to stop a zombie is with a head shot.  They walk amongst us.
