Some bullet/ load advise?

I shoot a 50 cal encore. I just made a purchase of Blackhorn to try, but, haven't tried it yet.  I am currently using two pellets of 777 behind 250 gr shockwaves. Does good, but tired of the crud ring and I like to tinker. I am looking to try the barnes TEZ with the Blackhorn. Has anyone tried this combo? what do you fellers think? I want a good accurate load that makes big nasty holes on Indiana deer (or any deer for that matter). And yes I do know that accuracy is relative to the gun. Just want your guys opinions.

I shoot a encore pro hunter with the blackhorn 209 powder and I can tell you if you try the blackhorn you won't go back to the 777. IMHO it is worth the extra price for numerous reasons. I haven't shot that bullet. I shoot the 250 grain shockwave bullets and I am well pleased with the combination. I would not recommend the easy glide sabots or the bonded bullets.

i shoot in omega 3 pellets of pyrodex and a 250gr shockwave works real good in my rifle i had that ring from 777 too dont like it will have to give blackhorn a try

I should have mentioned on the previous post be sure to use the hottest primer you can for the blackhorn powder CCI magnum works good for me.

I shoot heavy powerbelts with bh-209.  From all I've read you need a tight fit to assure proper ignition.

I just started shooting a inline. The man i bought the barrel from advised me to use Blackhorn 209
I called the rep and he told me to use a stanard 209 primer. I went ahead and bought the cci209 mag primer. I went with Harvester sabots and a .430 Hornady XTP HP. ( I tryed using a .429 cast WC  they were not verry accurat) I started at 80grn of BH209 and shot a 1-1/2'' groop incresed the powder charge to 85 grn and it came togeter 1/2 '' at 50 yds. I have not run this load through the chonographe yet so i dont know how fast im running them at yet. acoding to the lable on BH 209 I assume that they are running around 1750 to 1800 rpm.

the only bullet that ive shot sofar is the ones that ive listed (the .429cast and the.430 XTP) when i was doing my recurch I found to many negitve posts about the Power Belt. so i stayed away from them.
the next bullet that im going to try is a .430 Nosler JHP. The reason that im using these bullets is that i reload for the 44mag so i have quite a selection of bullets to play with. I have been able to take 3 deer with a pistol and a M94 winchester all in 44mag. The valosity of the ML is verry close to that of a 44mag rifle. I hope this helps.

I shoot a Pro Hunter and only BH209.  I shoot xtp.mags and CCI 209 M primers.  I use 110 grains of BH. I shoot the 250 and 300 grain supplied Hornady bullet sabot package.  I have also shot a 10mm 200 grain xtp/mag over 110 grain load w/ excellent success on deer and great targets. You can get a 50/40 Crush rib sabot for those bullets. I beleive i am clocking over 2000 fps w/ that load.  It is also my preferred coyote load.
I shot a powerbelt buck once but was not satisfied w/ the hole, I am pretty sure it spalttered. The deer ran about 70 yards and heck to track . It was a shoulder shot. Dead is dead but w/ the xtp's I had exits and most deer DRT never tracked more than 20 yards (if you call that tracking).  I will admit I was pushing that PB hard and that is before I learned better performance if I slowed it down. I used 75 grains of loose T7 until the jug was gone, after that I saw the light w/ BH209.

There are very good reports on Thors.  If you contact them they will send a sampling of bullets you can try by loading them down the barrel until you get that glove fit your ML.  Then order that size/
