Picked up my second Mosin/Nagant....
« on: November 12, 2003, 11:35:17 AM »
Went bopping around to the gun stores today. Seen the usual...a couple of nice P38's...some SKS's...no AK's though. Nothing really grabbed me so I started home. Remembered a gunstore in Berkey, Ohio that I worked in for a couple of months and decided to go out there. He used to be in the high end skeet and trap guns, so I didn't expect much. Well when I got there I was amazed! He still has the expensive shotguns , but he branched off into handguns and C&R's!!! Mosins, CZ52's, Tokarevs...all kinds of goodies! My heart went pitter patter! He had 2 Mosin 91/30's in excellent shape. I asked to se the one in the back...he showed it to me, but said he was taking that one home...it was the nicest one. I put on my puppie dog expression and he said oh alright, I'll let you have this one!

So $85 bucks tax encluded I came home with a beautiful 91/30 in ex.cond with sling, bayo, oiler.
He also had one M44 that was real nice that I was gonna get at the same time, but it had the forced electro penciled serial number bolt in it. The 91/30 has all matching numbers.

The only thing that made me mad was I put the rifle on the box behind my seat and danged if some old man don't pull out in front of me! So I had to slam on the brakes and the gun goes flying off the box and hits the metal seat brackets underneath and put a couple of small gouges in the wood! I could have killed him!!! No big deal, just looks like handling marks that no one else will notice, but I know they would not have been there!!

I have a M38 already.
