220ST to SPort conversion?
« on: March 07, 2004, 04:04:05 AM »
Ok, I have a 220ST with the first generation rail on it (the rounded kind not the new picatinny style.)  I think that the origional style rail is the one used on the sport.  I think Sig just used 220Sport frames before switching, though Im not positive.  Having said that, is it possible, assuming the rail will work, can I convert a 220ST to a 220 sport?  I understand some fitting may be required.  BUT, could this conversion be possible?

It may be possible.  I'm curious myself.  I have a used one of those muzzle break things that slides onto the rail, but no gun that has a rail to put it on.  Maybe sometime we could meet at a range or something and give it a try.

I have the same 220ST with the old rail too. I asked this over on SIGforums and was told yes! I hear that these sport framed 220ST's had to be hand fitted because of the frame and in turn are more accurate then the newer 220ST's.
