I had 21 years of LE and tried everyday to be held to a higher standard. But at any standard that boy should not have been shot. I was a UOF witness and did not see anything that would have lead me to believe that a weapon was being pulled. That boy should have been paying traffic fines for the next six months not setting paralyzed for life. The officer made a very bad decision or had a AD. Either way the officer should answer for the actions.
Deer hunting is mostly fun then you shoot one and it turns to work.

Local tv stations ran a scroll across the bottom of the screen last evening saying a guilty verdict was reached.
I wonder how much crap the cop got away with before he screwed up big

I've been riding 30 years. I won't bore anyone with the details unless asked, but I have had some spectacularly unprofessional interactions (like 5 or 6) with LEO's and it was ALWAYS when I was on a motorcycle except for once in a car. One time the officer (MN Hwy patrol) was so out of line, I swear if that guy hadn't had the car and the uniform and all the trappings I would never have thought he was a real cop, it was that out of line. Kinda scared me and made me rue how my Tax Dollars Were At Work, let me tell you...

I have two friends that I don't see that much that are cops but I have no idea what gets 'em going about bikes. Relating my experiences, they've both been obviously uncomfortable and evasive hearing about it. I said 'well you shoulda been there, I doubt you would have liked it'...

Bear in mind I am plenty coginzant of the fact at least 3 of those times I was speeding or such and 'had it coming' to a degree but...

It has been my experience that the younger cops are a little better in this regard, my theory is they psyc screen them better than they used to due to municipality liability issues. Good.
