Silver Stag Knives???

I was given one as a gift, very nice and I noticed it was made from D2 steel as are my Randalls....though...not quite a Randall.  It has the "crown" style grip with a deep curve.  The folks who had it made for me have my name engraved in the stag with the year on the pommel and the name of the outfit and their logo on the opposite side of the grip.  It's a really nice gift.

Anyway...has anyone used one ans what do you think of it?

Went over and looked at the site, and the knives are decent enough looking.  I find their comments about D-2 to be complete advertising hype.  I use a lot of D-2, several of my personal knives are in that steel  be cause it does hold a decent edge.  But I make knives in stainless steels also, and edge rolling and "crumbling" is unheard of; at least on mine.  They do heat treat to a good Rc though.

Thanks Joel...they appear to be pretty nice knives for the money I guess.  The one given to me has a stag crown that has a severe bend in it....very decorative but impractical as it is awkward to hold and use.  They have a knife design called a Randon Raindrop that looks very cool, though I can't imagine using it because of the blade shape.  What do you think??

I usually don't comment on the actual styles, since everyone has  their own preference.  The Random Raindrop looks usable.  They've copied the blade from the Grohmann knives, which is no big deal...I do that.
The elliptical blade makes a good low drag slicer; although they could have taken the flat grind a little higher.
