Ron Paul Crushes 3 T-Party Candidates..
« on: March 10, 2010, 02:12:59 AM »
Why the T-Party wants to give Ron Paul the boot in his Texas district is beyond me.  But it looks like their
plans didn't work out afterall....

Ron Paul Crushes Three Tea Party Foes
By David Weigel 3/3/10 9:43 AM The much-discussed primary challenge that Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) faced from three Tea Party activists ended with a whimper last night. Paul won 80.8 percent of the vote against Tim Graney (9.7 percent), John Gay (5.3 percent), and Gerald Wall (4.2 percent).

Hours before the polls closed, here’s how Politico handicapped it:
The question is whether he’ll win the nomination outright with more than 50 percent or be forced into a runoff. If a Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll victor like Paul — who has built a career out of trying to shrink the size and scope of government — is held to a modest mid-50s winning percentage, it might serve as a flashing sign of caution for other GOP incumbents facing tea party-oriented challengers.

Well, so much for that. There was even more hype about a possible Paul embarrassment in 2008, when a pro-war city councilman challenged him and convinced some conservative bloggers that Paul was beatable. Paul crushed him by 40 points. For all of the whining about his alleged unpopularity in the district, Paul has a fantastic operation there.

Jonathan Martin has more on the inability of Tea Party candidates to live up to the hype

So, I guess we'll have to put up with RP a while longer... :D

Paul is my Congressman.  I like him.  He'll beat whatever socialist/communist the democrats run by 25 to 30 points as well.

I don't like every position he takes, but his positions, for me, are 90% in the right direction.

Just shows Mr. Paul is popular in his District, as well he should be. I don't know this Tea Party group in his area, sounds alittle wierd, but has nothing to do with the Tea Party overall anyway. The lady in TX running for Gov. was reported to be a "truther" & if true, just goes to show that every group will have stange factions within.
No biggie & no real tea Party impact or any changer for Mr. Paul !

Ron Paul is a nut case! I would never vote for him. He has some things I agree with, but on others he goes off the deep end. Strangely enough , I probably would have vote for him in my youth.

My favorite quote from RP, "No."

What's something strange he's said?

I seem to see a commonality here! There are no perfect candidates, and no one deserves any one's votes, Heck, R Reagan, wasn't liked universally, he should never have been elected!

If we elected Jimma Cata again it would be an improvement over what we have now!

I don't like everything Ron Paul says or espouses, but I'd give him a chance at this point!
