Hunting Dogs
« on: October 16, 2010, 10:16:30 AM »
When I turned on the forum this morning it was all about killing dogs or stupid hunting dogs.  I think most of this should have been about stupid owners. Well anyway being a life long owner of fine hunting dogs I just want to say.  A fine well trained hunting dog is a thing of pure beauty and and a great pleasure in mans life. Meet my pal KellyO.

Range rider...I couldn't agree more.  Beautiful dog you have there!

I'm heading out in the morning for a week of Ruffed Grouse hunting in Northern NH.  Can't wait to get out in the coverts with my best friend.

Here's the old dog...sheesh I miss his beautiful points.

And here's the new guy.  He's a Wire Hair Pointing Griffon.  Much better water dog and still points like a dream.  But just not as stylish as a Llewellin.  Thats his first Grouse and Woodcock at 10 months old.

Thx for your wonderful post  and sharing your best friends.  KellyO the big Gordon Setter had a rough time the last two years.  He had to have a toe removed cancer. We were on our annual hunt in Arizona this year when he was bitten by a Sidewinder.  They give a lot to us in their short lives.
