Pistol Scope on a Rifle

I was wondering how a pistol scope would work on an Encore with a 24in barrel??
Would the eye relief be TOO much?? I am looking for a generous eye relief for this set-up and thought a small pistol scope would serve me well.
Any input is appreciated.

You will have about 12" of ER with alot of pistol scopes. Just shoulder the gun and measure from eye to where the end of scope will be mounted. I have a Burris pistol scope mounted on the barrel of a slug gun at 12" and it works fine.

Pistol scopes work well on rifles when the rifles are set up as scout rifles. The eyepiece of the scope is beyond the chamber. I have a Swedish K31 set up this way using a pistol scope. I get three shot groups of about 1/2" at 100 yards with this set up.
