I have a Ruger NMBH in 45 LC, but, I ran across a 657-3, never fired, wrapped in grease paper, 300 bucks. I couldn't resist. I fired the 41 mag today. What a handgun. Loaded 50 rounds, 235g RNFP, 8g W231. Buddy gave me 14 high power JSP, I guess factory. I got a B-Square scope mount from Ebay for 20 bucks, a none drill and tap type. I didn't want to drill the new gun. Lo and behold when I took the site off, the gun was factory drilled and tapped. I got it on but it fit funny??. I fired three rounds, didn't hit the paper?? Looked at the scope, blew it right off. Luckily I had brought the rear site and tools. Re-mounted the rear site and fired some more. About 4" high and 4" to the right. Adjusted. Fired some more. 3" group at 25y elbows on the bench. This load kicked a bit but not to bad. Some guy had a crony there and I asked to shoot some through it. He said sure. 50y range, he had a 10' target up. I fired through the crony at the target and he recorded and spotted. By golly I hit that target 3 times. Average FPS 1148. I set up on the 50y range, used my rifle rest, with a rag in the V. I used a small man shaped target and open sites. Dam I hit that sucker every time with open sites and I am talking groups. A couple flyers but all in the chest. I used buddy,s HP loads and dam, hit that sucker in the head. We are talking 4" groups with open sites. What a handgun. Want to buy a Blackhawk? I came home and hand fitted that B-Square, dremmel tool and drilled all the holes and ground it to fit like a glove, 3 screws, a site clamp and a barrel clamp. It will never come off again. Next trip with the scope. Think it will kill something?
