Question for the Handi Holics
« on: March 18, 2010, 12:30:32 AM »
Thinking if buying a new Survivor in 45/410. When reloading do I need to stay with the normal 45 LC power levels or can they be heated up some as for use in Rugers etc ? Thanks.

Ruger level is fine in a Handi.  44 Man

The Survivor 45/410 comes on an SB1 shotgun frame, while it will work fine at ruger/TC 45 colt levels, it's not a Handi with an SB2 frame if your goal is to use other rifle barrels on it other than 357 and 44 mag.  ;)

Thanks guys. 45's and 410's are all I want to shoot with this frame. Just wanted to know if I needed to load some factory duplication loads and keep them separate from the Ruger loads. I don't care for screaming loads but like them a bit warmer than something for an old Colt or a similar style 45.

What is the difference in the model 88 and a SBI?  Can different barrels be used on a 88 frame/

Thanks

The 088 was made from '79-'86 by H&R Inc who went bankrupt in 1986. SB1s are made by H&R 1871 from 1987 on, probably not a lot of difference between them.
