it might be a while before a range report.  i don't have a scope for it might be till august before i can buy one. guy i got it from said he was not sure if it was him or the rifle said it would group 12" at 450 yards with factory ammo . is that all that bad ? don't seem all that bad to me right now. don't have a range that long our club range goes to about 275 yds.

Thats about 2.7 MOA.  Not great for a varmint gun.  I suspect the gun will do better than that  so it was probably him. ;)

It'll shoot alot better than that... buy the best varmint scope you can afford and run some good ammo through it. One thing to consider here... 450yds. is a pretty long poke for the average shooter... maybe the guy you got it from just isn't experienced enough to shoot that kind of distance. One small twitch or mistake in your form will really show up in your groups... something you might get away with at 100yds. is gonna bite you in the butt at 450yds. ;)

tell you what. im not all that experienced shooting . to me if i could do 12" at 450 yards right now i would be thrilled. i might not be able to buy anything better than a tasco scope for a while. but our range has bowling pins set up at about 250 to 275 yards think i will have fun trying to knock down some.  got a brand new reloading out fit  that i have not used yet think i need to get together some supply's one of these days.

Longest shot ive ever taken in my neck of the woods was 296 yards on a woodchuck and got him. If you are able to knock over those bowling pins at 275 yards youll be fine

went and bought a scope for it today. i have been told this scope is pretty darn good from 5-6 people. it is a centerline brand walmart sells them for $69.00 .  it's 4X16-40 lighted recpicle (sp) in red or green or no color black. made in china what is not made in china at walmart ? came with weaver rings extra battery for scope .adjustable pareallax from10 yards to infinity . same scope the guy i got it from used when he had it. well i shall see how good it is over time. i bought this scope because i had a budget of $100.00 or less for a scope no way can i afford a $300.00 + scope i buy the best i can afford with cash don't have a credit card don't want one ether has worked for me the last 64 years LOL
excuse bad pic

I have one of those scopes...Its not to bad for the money and I have made some long shots with it, 286 yard cold bore shot on a p-dog, 288 yards on the second shot another p-dog just of the mound the first was on.  Mine is on a 6x45 AR-15 though.....we ring the 500 yard gong at the range with that rifle and scope.  I havent pushed it further yet but the adjustments are soild.

Also have the 3-9x mounted on a 22.  Both are pretty nice scope.

Once you get it zeroed be sure to move the turrets to zero, that way you can just spin the turret for the range you want and then back to zero for your orginal point of impact.

I have several high dollar scopes. Other than costing boo coo bucks, and they carry a lifetime guarantee even if you are not the original owner. But I have a simmons varmit scope on my H&R 223, and hide the name you can put it against those high dollar scopes and won't see any difference. They are very clear. It's made in the phillipines? We dont have those PDogs here just groundhogs and that ground hog never knew what scope I was using. Now I will say I have seen some foreign scopes go south when put on those shoulder busters. So don't put your scope down, if it does the job for you that is all that counts. Years ago Tasco made a pro Class scope made in Japan. I wish Iknew then what I know now they were one of the best foreign made scope around. If you can find one FS you will pay alot for them they are in demand. Another scope that is quite good are the Mueller scopes and the prices are very good. So I will close with this if it works for you don't fix it because some one says O I wouldn't have nothing but a Leupold or the likes.lou

The Center Point Scopes are pretty nice. They are made by Crosman Arms in Bloomfield, NY.   The plant is about 20 minutes from me.   For the money, they fit the bill.  I have the 4-16x40 AO IR on my .243 Handi.   The turrets leave a little to be desired and the clicks are definitely not 1/4" at 100 yards, but for the $ I spent on it, it works.

mine said made in china

....just like everything else?

Certain components may be manufactured in China, but I'm fairly certain they are assembled here in NY.   I have a contact at the Crosman plant.   I'll check on that one.    ;)

Check it out, but I don't think Crosman has ever built any optics - even if it has their 'name' on it.  They outsource all kinds of stuff these days.

it's funny  if  it's made over seas if it is assembled in the us it can be said its made in USA. i delivered to sunbeam products at one time almost every thing is made over seas but assembled illinois so its says made in USA
i worked for a buick dealer once the parts manager at one time marked down there buick parts where made. he came up with 29 countrys make parts for a buick.
