refinishing question
« on: March 15, 2010, 12:28:16 PM »
A friend has offered me a deal on a sig that he carried alot. The gun is in excellent condition internally. The outer condition is very worn.  Can someone recommend a good finish and someone to do it.  Thanks.

There are any number of good finish choices and people who do good work.
If it is stainless there are options for beadbalsting and shake and bake reciepts to suit any whim.
Could be cold blued or hot blued or Hard Chromed if it is a steel frame.
Fords, Tripp, vandenberg--the list is pretty extensive.
I am sure the boys here will come up with a number of satisfied referreral.
Blessings

If it's just a shooter I wouldn't worry about the finish, but that's just me. I was never a big fan of the looks of a sig though.

Cerakote.  It is the choice finish for any weapon now and even the military is moving towards it.

Most Sig's had a similar finish from the factory.
