Mark the neck with smoke or marker . Run the case into your die until it is just short of touching the shoulder . Lock it there .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

No you cannot in reality neck size with a full length sizer but you can only partially size the case which is kinda sorta similar but not the same.

I found only neck sizing would make lock up hard . I admit to using hottest listed loads . Maybe the new G@'s fixed that problem . I don't shoot single shot guns anymore not that they have anything wrong with them ,I just like revolvers more . Good luck with you loading . The 7X30 is a great round.

Back when I shot TCs I pretty much always neck sized my 7-30 cases and never had a lock up problem. But then I do not tend to load to max and especially not over max pressures. If you are having problem getting NS cases to go back in your TC chances are you are exceeding SAAMI pressures by 20,000 or so and causing the action to spring and let cases expand too much. Book max loads shouldn't do that from my personal experience.

I loaded for accuracy not for a specific velocity.

GB , You are 100% correct on that TC . The loads were very accurate though all the way to 500 yard rams.
