I have seen one in the Dayton Ohio area a couple years ago. I also hear yellow springs Ohio area has some too. Yes they are magnificent birds. A lot bigger than you think when up close. I saw one that had been shot. I think the DNR service people had it either at Huston Woods or at a museum in Dayton who helps keep them alive when they find them injured. All I can say is they are so beautiful. I too am happy they are moving into our area.

Just east of Toledo, we have a couple federal and state refuge's, right along Lake Erie. I've been in my garden working, and will see a red tailed hawk nailing a mouse in a bean field, while a bald eagle is circling over head. gypsyman

Ya I drive back and forth to work from Port Clinton to Toledo and see them alot. Always around Crane Creek and Davis Bessie. The pre adults don't have a white head and alot of people think there a hawk. I know they will eat road kill but driving home from work last July I saw a dead deer along RT.2 and standing on top was a big Eagle eating away. Another driver was stoped taking pictures.

They are really neat birds, more of a fish eater. I see them at Salt Fork, Leesville and above my cottage near Huron, Ohio.

There is a pair that have a nest less than a half mile from my place in Crawford County. I have an island on my pond in which they like to sit in the trees and look for fish...makes for some good photo opportunities.

On New US Rt 30 near Nevada, they dug a pond for fill for the highway and left an old growth oak on an island in the middle. I have seen one in that tree a few times since the road opened.

Here is a couple I photographed while deer hunting this year in central PA. They were watching a large pond full of ducks.

Worked in Galion Ohio and we would see them every day. Also have seen them go over Piedmont Lake, and also one time go over West Branch Reservoir. Even saw one fly over route 8 in Cuyahoga Falls one day. I don't think people realize how many there are. If you keep an eye out, you WILL see them.

piedmont sure is a pretty lake, the eagles only make it better, too bad they don't eat some of the geese down there
