The two are completely different guns.
The 10/22 is an Aluminium reciever
the 10/22 Mag is a steel reciever
The Magizine for the 10/22Mag is longer that the well for the 10/22.
You may want ot look at different ammo in your 10/22 to get what you want.
Or get a 10/22 Mag or other repeater 22 mag that fits your budget.

The 10/22Mag bolt is also different, being made of manganese or some other heavy metal, IIRC.

Rechambering .22LR's to .22WMR generally works better in manually-operated repeaters - but even then there would most likely be feeding issues.

besides the heavy bolt you would have to design and manufacture, the heavier springs you would have to determine, there is the matter of is the action long enough for the increased stroke involved and is it strong enough, is there enough room on bottom of action to mill out for magnum magazine, would you have to move the stock mounting point to clear the longer mag which would involve cutting another notch in the barrel and using longer screws for the v-block and on it goes. the short point to this long story is sell your 10-22 and put the money toward a magnum. there are probably many more reasons that a more knowledgable person could point out to you. my opinion and you're welcome to it. good luck and have a good'en neighbor, bubba.

When you cut the 22 Mag chamber in the 22 lr barrel you will then have the extractor slot into the chamber area because the Mag chamber is a larger diameter than the raidus of the extractor slot.  Larry
