The real test is to get a tight fitting patch on a rotating cleaning rod. Start the rod into the bore with the patch. Mark the rod where it starts and measure the distance the rod traveled for 1 revolution. If it measures 16" for 1 revolution of the cleaning rod, then it is a 1 - 16" twist. The standard for 222 Remington is 1-14", but as you can see, it can vary from one manufacturer to another.
