What about:
the trigger pull?
trigger creep?
Grip comfort?
barrel lockup?
barrel unlock?

Thinking seriously about buying one this week, @ $269.95.for the frame.(includes grip)
Price sound right?

Thanks for any Info. I get..

i love the new G2. i took a doe yesterday with my G2,. and a 14" 30-30AI barrel. the 130gr hornady ssp @over 2500fps done the job fine. she was 50 yards out when i shot her. she then went 200 yards, leaving a excellent blood trail to follow. i was surprised she made it so far.
G2: 8)
trigger pull- sucks, will need to be worked, but is rather simple. mine is very light now.
trigger creep- very little, if any
grip comfort- superb, feels wonderful, a great improvement
barrel lock up- i've only used the one barrel on the frame and it works fine.
barrel unlock- the gun opens very easily. again, a great improvement.

did i say,"i love the G2"? if not, i'll say it again. i love the G2!
  i gave $450 + 6% tax for my G2 and 14" 22lr match barrel, which i moved to a different frame.

:D I agree with KYODE that I like the G2 frame.   Has a great feel to it and fits very well in hand.
Trigger pull is heavy
Trigger is crisp with no creep.
Hammer is like the Encore in that you can recock it after letting it back down without opening action.   Like the Encore you must have a barrel on it to cock the hammer.
Paid $265 for frame, pistol grip, and forend plus tax.    Could have bought the whole thing including 22 match barrel for $450 plus tax.  Didn't need the barrel so Gun shop sold me the rest only.
The opening and closing is as smooth as anything I have.
Over all I like the G2.

I have two,, one pistol one rifle and if I had to pick    old contenders or the new g2's  well g2 all the way ...no problems with any of my older barrels..good feel in the hand ,but i hope they come out with some rubber grips...  lawyer trigger but thats no surprise.  The only thing is I am not going to tell is how much I paid ...too embarrassed
I have yet been able to shoot a 3 shot sub 1" group at 100 yards ...........on any deer!!!!!!

My G2 was my first Contender in a while, and I've really enjoyed it. I've since added an older Contender, and really don't prefer one to the other.

I have had one barrel ( of six tried) which won't lock up properly on the G2.

I own a contender carbine and G2 carbine.

I like the contender ten times better than the G2 when my custom bullberry stock set is installed. If you plan on staying with factory wood than the feel of the G2 carbine stock set is ten times better than the contender carbine stock set.

I like the contender trigger arrangement better. I just don't like the spring back feature on the G2 trigger. I do not own a Encore but some have told me the it does the same thing. The contender trigger does not play fancy tricks after the trigger is pulled.
