This is the correct forum for your question. Normally posts here get several answers from folks knowledgeable of such matters. I'm NOT one of those knowledgeable folks.

My guess would be if you have a teenager at home that's where it came from. Otherwise it most likely slipped in via some e-mail you opened with the hidden virus in it. If you visit down load sites for movies, music and such then that could be where you picked it up. Many sites out there have such stuff embedded waiting to get you when you go to them. It's why I seldom go to any sites not a part of the GBO Network. We do not allow such on our network.

You can always go to your history folder and see where others may have been on your computer.
Also theres programs out there that you can load that wont let porn sights on.
But if you have a savvy teenager they are pretty good at erasing there tracks and getting around security programs, but can leave viruses behind from there surfing.
Thank God for the woods and the critters that inhabit them

I've been getting hit on by women through Windows Live Mail. I get a message saying some one has a message for me on the Windows Live thing. I usually spam stuff from anyone I don't know to keep viruses out and stuff. I got curious and opened one to see. Some woman gave me instructions to email her for pictures of herself. I spamed it right then. I got another one yesterday and spamed it without opening. All you have to do is open a strange email to get infected. I use Norton 360 security and it seems to do a great job on full coverage protection. It lets me know when something tries to get in and blocks it. I have been attacked on public wifi and Norton stopped it. Got it new at Amazon for 40.00 per 3 uses for a year. Older versions are okay cause it will update for free after you install it. Just make sure it is new and unused. MSN, Yahoo home pages are,"full of hook-up", dating links and stuff. Your just asking for it if you click on any of that stuff. It's even in my email page. I have thought about using the parental controls to block that junk. I used a people search website once to locate some one and now I get message links on my email page saying some one is looking for me. They come with a picture of  a girl I've never seen before. My daughter talk me into going on Twitter against my will. Within hours I was getting bothered by women who started,"following", me. Got curious about one and checked it out. Next thing I know there is nude pictures on the screen. I canceled my account and ditched Twitter for good. We live in a pornagraphic world. It's everywhere and it's infected.

I am the only one that has ever used this computer. I have known the women who sends me the email for 50 years. She says she has AVG virus protection on hers and it says her computer is virus free. If she sends me an email that i want to print. it throws my printer off line than i have a heck of a time starting everything up again. This is a new printer i bought two months ago. It worked fine till a week or so ago. Don't suppose it is my cheap HP printer? The last HP printer i had lasted for years. It was cheaper to buy a new printer that ink cartridges for the old one.

The infectors are getting smarter all the time.
Did you know that you have to check each Microsoft and Adobe "upgrade" they send you?
It seems that some bad folks have been using their logos and when you hit the "yes" upgrade me
You are infected

Every time you get a pop up asked you to update your stuff. Read the URL.

Or do like I did and learn to shut off all automatic updates
