I was told that there is something in our state wildlife laws that would prevent us from shooting one if we did indeed see one. Unless of course you would have to shoot one for self defense or someone elses defense. I don't know if I would shut shoot, shovel and shut up on one if I seen one.

I think we need to buy a pig and chain it up on Dinny's hunting grounds. We can tie a long tail on it, so it looks like a wild cat. :D

Lonny

It would have been even funnier if you just turned one loose while I was hunting and never told me.   Could you imagine the write-up I would have posted for that one?! And the pics  :o

Y'all would be laughing for weeks before you even told me the truth. ;D

Have a great Holiday Weekend!

I'm sure most farmers would agree with you. I just think that the day will come when they have inhabited this country just as the coyotes have, without boundaries.

I stand ready to defend any farmer's property when the day comes. Oh man do I have some tricks those hogs have never seen.  ;)

Thanks, Dinny

Years ago I was deer hunting on a buddie's 36 acres near Frenchtown,  He forgot to mention that the guy on the property next to his kept an African lion there.  That roar sure carried in the cold morning air, and I warmed right up.  Adrenalin does that. ha ha.........Mike

Hi Lonny

First chance to get back on.  No pictures and just that news that day, have not heard any more. I will have to check with a friend who is an DNR officer here in Sheuben Co.

June 30, 2010
AVILLA, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - An Avilla man says he saw a cougar in his backyard.

67-year-old Bob Burlingame says it was around 7 am Tuesday when he and his wife were enjoying a cup of coffee in their backyard and spotted a cougar.

Burglingame's wife snapped a few pictures of the animal as proof.

He says he's not concerned about the cat living in his backyard.

Burlingame says, “I'm not nervous, I'm not anxious, I'm not afraid. Things in the wild they like to stay to their own, I don't want to mess with them. It's really that simple.”

Department of Natural Resources official’s say they are unable to conclusively identify what's in the picture based on its quality.

Avilla is about 6miles from me

I hope he continues to have no reason to be anxious or afraid. I think I would be a little of both. I would also start packing while drinking coffee.
