I had a Rugar .44 mag come apart in my hands back in the mid-sixties………….it could be considered human error since I was shooting reloads from an individual I did not know very well, his idea of reloading was it’s just a small difference between a hot load and an overload, guess what he gave me?
I was lucky I was wearing shooting glasses but still have a large scar on the palm of my left hand where the grip cut me as it came apart.
Lesson learned here, I don’t shoot anyone’s reloads except mine and never shoot any ammo from an unknown source.
