Afternoon reloaders.

I have posted this info over on the shotgun forum, but here also in the hopes that some one has a book old enough to help.

A friend has about 10lbs of ball powder, probably for use in shotguns and/or handguns.

WW 450 LS

My oldest books list a Olin 452, but no luck on the powder in question.

Hate the thought of turning 10lbs of powder into lawn food.

The powder has been well stored and looks as well as smells good.

Any info is welcome.

It is WW, so would expect it is Winchester/Western or Olin.

No other handgun loads were listed.

Apparently not a very versatile powder. There's no mention of it in Speer @#9.

Seems like I've read that ball powder has excellent long term shelf life so don't blame you for trying to use it.

Surely some data is available. Since Hodgdon now sells Win / Olin powders you might want to contact them on it.

Some posters might be confused - I sure am. I doubt there's a powder that is suitable for the 30-06  AND the 38. 

 Hodgdon sold H 450 ( I still have some) but doubt that's the same as what you have.
