Picked Up a T/C Hawken
« on: April 18, 2010, 11:00:54 AM »
At the gun show today for $150.00.  It has a Green Mountain conical barrel on it that appears unfired.  I have a pile of conicals & sabot bullets so I'm well fixed for shooting it.  I also found out where there is a Pedrosoli 12 gauge double for $375.00.  I may have to look into that.

They are fun to shoot.  I have tons of caps & powder that I've picked up at Walmart after the season for nearly nothing.  These cheap T/Cs are great investments even if you don't want them.  They can be parted out at a tidy profit.  The one I picked up today is a very early gun with the very pronounced cheek piece.  I need to make up a couple of hickory ramrods to replace the plastic ones someone installed.

Very realistic price along with a good buy. The factory should realize this but we have the new owners.

I never did hear a bad report on the Green Mountain drop-in's...Did you also get the original barrel with the purchase?

Sweet!
That's the best of both worlds, a TC Hawken with a brand new Green Mountain barrel.
That is $500 worth of rifle.
Aim small don't miss.

Yeah, and it wasn't all that long ago that he wouldn't be caught dead with a TC (or so he used to say).  ;D
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

Their traditional guns are nice and I frequently get them for nothing or next to nothing.  I like the original Contender.  I wouldn't own anything else they make unless I could turn it over quick.

I'm going to order a T/C scope mount for this LRH barrel tomorrow.  I already have the scope and rings.
