rifle scope on a 22LR

can i put a 4x12 rifle scope on a 22 lr ? or do i need a rimfire scope

Yes. Most discerning shooters do.
Just make sure you buy rings that fit the rifle (probably 3/8") and the scope (probably 1").
You might have to go on line to find them.

Usually the only difference in a rimfire and rifle scope is:
1. beefiness. rifle scopes are beefier than rimfire scopes.
2. parallax. rimfire and shotgun scopes are generally made for a 50-60 yard parallax. rifle scopes are generally made for 150 yard parallax.

Your questions and comments are very confusing.

Are you talking about putting a rifle scope on a rimfire handgun or rimfire rifle? If rifle than rifle scopes are what is appropriate. I assume tho you might have meant centerfire scopes not just rifle scopes?

The comment about TC bases really throws me. What the heck kinda gun are you talking about?

ok i have a bushnel 4x12 Igot cheep my son has a rossi matched pair combo 22lr/20ga the 22lr barrel takes a 92A top mount base a contender base so i can use weaver rings
