Do H&R barrels need to be matched to a receiver.
« on: February 09, 2010, 02:13:17 AM »
I have a couple of H&R's and am interested in buying new or used barrels for them. How do you know if they will match up? or are they all interchangable? ???

From what I understand some do and some don't.
There's a post in this section http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/board,126.0.html at the top of the page called Handi Basics I believe that covers this in detail.
Also there's another titled "How often do handi barrels fit without modification" .

I hope this helps and good luck with your little handi, they're great little guns.

I have bought three used barrels.  One fit without any mod.  The second fit with little mod.  The last one took and hour's work before I was happy.  If you are good with tools, you can do it.

All three of my Handis would swap barrels to one dedicated receiver if needed. The Topper 158's would only need minor work to fit my new SB2.
