I suspect there are about as many ways to clean guns/contenders, as there are people doing it.   I recently got a new barrel from Bullberry, and as you probably know, they are big advocates of EEZOX.   In fact, they send a small sample with their barrels.   I started using it, and it seems to be working fairly well, but hasn't stood the test of time.  Are any of you "dyed in the wool"  EEZOX fans??  Just curious if the experience has been good/bad/indifferent.  thanks

I got my first sample with my first Bulberry barrel also. Great stuff. I especially like to swab the bores of my guns with it. Makes cleaning as easy as it could be. It is also great for lubing my carry Colt 1911s. Oil will migrate down the slide and wind up in the bottom of the holster. Not EEZOX. When fired, the crud doesn't have anything to mix with to jam the action. My Bullseye pistols can go 2000 rounds and not need cleaning. Did I mention I like EEZOX?

My annual maintenance on my Contender frames concludes with spraying the frame down with Eezox, and blowing out the extra with compressed air. To me it is the perfect balance between running the frames dry, and lubing specific areas. The Eezox does not stay wet like oils, and doesn't attract debris like oil does. I have noticed a lot less surface rust on the areas of the frame that were previously prone to rust, and the frames stay clean all season. I'm sold on it!  ;D

Thanks for all the comments.   I read/heard someplace that one should be a little vigilant when using it....both skin contact and the vapor.   I see Midway has it on sale in their April flyer.   Good shooting.....

Tim,

I curious if you use EEZOX as a primary cleaner for powder fouling, copper solvent, etc., or as a rust preventative??   Thanks for the links, these addressed my questions.   As mentioned, I called Midway to order some 204 Ruger brass, and they were in a back-order situation for EEZOX.  This despite the fact that their April Flyer arrived yesterday.  I shouldn't complain, overall Midway as done pretty well for the things I have ordered over the years.   bruce

I use it after cleaning as a protectant, it's kinda spendy to use as a cleaning solvent and there are better products for removing carbon and copper fouling.  ;)

I'd bet I have one or two of those sample tubes from Bullberry around here.  Fred used to give them to me by the handfuls when I lived there by him, and I don't use the stuff.   If you're short and need some to get by until Potterfield gets his act together (fat chance on that ever happening), I'd give you a temporary supply.   LMK pard.

     Larry, I thank you for the offer, but, I really don't use it either.  I saw the post that it was on sale @ Midway and made a little bet with myself that it was out of stock.....and......voila....I'm pretty much a Ballistol guy here although I've heard nothing but good about EEZOX.

Yeah, EEZOX is a good product, I just can't stand the smell of it.   Like an Energizer battery, the stink goes on and on and on...  :D
