It's a 16 1/4" T/C Custom Shop 45-70Gov. barrel topped off with a 4 power Leupold.

What is the taper on the barrel - a heavy barrel or the bull barrel?  Which forend are you using the standard rifle forend or the Katadin carbine one?

Nice rig!  I'm jealous (live in commiefornia and can't buy TC's anymore :( ). Looks like a real bear thumper to me!

It's the standard 24" - 26" heavy barrel forend.The barrel is a tapper.

I was thinking of something very similar.  A custom shop heavy barrel about 20 inches long with a Leupold VX-II 1-4 and Leupold Dual Dovetail mount.  I thought that this setup would do well to replace my Marlin guide gun with same scope.
