There have been some on the forum blasting others for sitting on their donkey in the primary, and Pis---g and moaning later.

I can't believe only one has answered my question ::)

I did the RP thing in the primary too.  I remember voting for Allen Keyes in a primary once too, I doubt if he got 1 percent... :o
Something I like about Keyes, not many do though.  Sure seems to be a strict constitutionalist though.  Went and heard him speak years ago, he does not pull any punches.  A lady stood up to ask him a question "if your elected what will you do for the poor"..he shot back an answer in less than a second, "What are YOU going to do about them"...she turned all red as he went on to say what he had done personally for the poor without governments help.
I bet she did not vote for him either.

Alan Keyes, what a great man. I had voted for him also. I think it was the first time he ran in 92 that he started winning some states, then the media pounced on him like they do any other conservative candidate. After that he didn't win another state. I always thought he would have made a great president.
I wonder why all the blacks didn't come out in droves to vote for him. It must have been because he didn't campaign on the fact that he was going to take all the greedy, rich, peoples money and give it to them.

Remember in the last primary after a debate Sean Hannity asked Ron Paul for an interview, and then jumped him trying to discredit him? That's why I gave up on the media, including Fox. Hannity didn't like Paul, and wanted one of the other candidates so he tried to ambush him. ALL MEDIA are the same. They want THEIR CANDIDATE to win, and will use their presence on the media to influence an election. Many talk about the liberal media pushing their candidate, but look what Fox has done. They are constantly asking Huckabee, Gingrich, Romney, and McCain questions on issues, and what they think should be done.
Gingrich left Congress in disgrace, and the other three Americans rejected their candidacy. Who the hell cares what they think about anything. It's the Fox agenda. Just like calling Gingrich "Mr. Speaker". ::) He ain't speaker no mo, and hasn't been in years. Or Huckabee and Romney, Governor. They ain't Governor no mo either.

Ron Paul was a great candidate, but he was too far right for most of the people in the Republican party.  I know how much many of you supported him, but he never stood a chance of winning.

Instead of uniting behind one candidate that could win during the primaries, we were so fractured the moderates was able to put McCain in.  Someone who did not stand a snow balls chance in winning.  Apparently there is more Moderates in the Republican party than true conservatives.

I hear people saying I will not vote for that guy he is not a conservative, he is a moderate.  Well that kind of intolerance is what got Obama in office, and it will keep him in office next time as well.  I remember how we said we would kick Clinton out of office after his first term, yea right, look at what happened.  So many people stood on their principles and let the Dems take over then.  We are destined to do it all over again.  Only this time it will be the last time I think.  If given enough power they (the Dems) will take things so far there will be no turning back.  What is the next step after Socialism?
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

He would have stood a chance, if more voters had voted for a Republican that believed in the Constitution..
How will ANYONE worth a damn, ever win, if we don't step up to the plate?

I didn't really expect many hits on this thread, because most, I think voted for a Liberal candidate, and don't want to admit it. Shucks folks! We all make mistakes..........

I did it myself, by voting for a big government, war hungry, open border, liberal named G. Bush.(The guy that gave us the D.H.S.Not once, but TWICE! "That lesser of the two evils vote". It will not happen again!

Sourdough, you and I almost never disagree on anything, but I would like to point out something in regards to standing on ones PRINCIPALS. You said, and I quote: So many people stood on their principles, and let the democrats take over then.
Are you saying that the few that STOOD ON THEIR PRINCIPALS, disrupted the majority that ABANDONED THEIR PRINCIPALS, or perhaps never had any, and that allowed Obama to win? Are you saying that we should ABANDON OUR MORAL PRINCIPALS, and our PATRIOTIC DUTY, and help you elect a scoundrel instead of a PATRIOT?
Well sir, I contend that I personally, based on MY PRINCIPALS, will not tolerate a pit bulldog in my yard, a cat in the house, a thief in the living room, a nasty mouth in the presence of women and children, or an atheist teaching my children. I will also not help elect a sold out SOB, of a politician, just to beat another sold out SOB of another party. I will vote for what is right, and damned be the ones that don't.
So I plead GUILTY AS CHARGED, for voting on my MORAL CHRISTIAN PRINCIPALS, and my denying them, is no more likely than my denying Christ and the Cross.
I would however, suggest that folks that CLAIM to have principals stop abandoning them.
Now let know one here think, that I am angry with Sourdough, or attacking him. I am not, and would like someday to meet him, as I consider him a good guy. I am stating MY CASE. It seems to me that the reason this country is going to hell in a hand basket, is that everyone has learned to settle for less, and less is just what they have. I ain't gonna help ya trade it off boys, your gonna have'ta do it yourselves.
I am not surrendering my principals for anything or anyone. When you trade off your MORAL PRINCIPALS, there ain't much left, your pretty much a shell.

Boy Dee...that is a good way to put it.  My wife and I have lots of conversations about this, she thinks we won't have a chance if we don't all pick the same "corrupt politician" that is "less of a threat" to us.  It's hard to get through to her...she is scared of what's going on.

So if ya don't mind I might steal some of what you said, cause I am on the verge of getting through to her sometimes.  I just don't know how to say it as good as what you just said it.

Hey, you might be famous if I can bring her around before the elections.  Well...forget that...you need more than my wife and I to be famous, but it's a start!

Good post.
