Nikon 1X scope on Ruger #1?
« on: April 02, 2010, 09:46:05 PM »
Anyone ever use one of these scopes?  What do you think?  Also considering a Leupold or Burris Scout scope, opinions?

I'm sure it would be fine, but why limit yourself to a single power???  I would think a 1x6 or a 2x7 (my fav) would be a more usable combination.  I do have a 2.5x scout scope on my #1 in 45/70 though...works just great!

I've had a Leupold 1X4 for 25 years.  I prefer 2X to 1X.  I can still see the barrel at 2X.  I think the view of the barrel speeds target acquisition on fast running deer.  Just my opinion.  Mine is one a semi auto.
