It would have to be my factory 10" 7mm-08.  Flat shooting, surprisingly accurate, and easy to carry while hunting.

My factory 10" 22 LR Bull Barrel Match. It's deadly on game and will out shoot most 22 rifles.

Good question...but tuff!  I'm gonna start off with four and whittle it down.
1- 10" 22lr- Hard not to start here...all that cheap shootin'...accuracy galore.
2- 10" .218Bee- May not be a popular choice...but I love mine. Your 10" .223/.222 will make more noise and fire but I'll bet my Bee will smack'em just as hard.  Accurate too...New powder and bullets have given it new life.
3- 10" 30Herrett- You gotta dance with the one that brung ya.  It wasn't quite my first barrel, but it was close.  Gotten away from it a few times...but keep goin' back.  357Herret would be listed too if it wasn't fer #4.
4- 10" 357Max- My 10" Heavy Hitter with a little politeness.  45Colt used to be close here, but moved it up to the 14" group.  Sorry guys, 44Mag was just never close here for me.
Well, I'm gonna have to think on it a little to do any whittlin' ;)

My favorite 10" is my T/C factory 357 mag. It is very accurate with 180 gr Hornady XTP's . I have killed deer and fox out to a little over 100 yards with it with no problem.

I have a 45/410 T/C Factory 10" with adjustable sights but have not played with it that much to see if it really shoots. I have never shot a 410 in it just 45 Colt. It was pretty accurate out to 50 yards.

First would be my 22LR bull match. A very close second would be my 41 mag. Depended on what i was hunting. They both shot better than i could.

I have barrels for all the common cartridges [22,44,45,357,223,3030].

My fav overall is the 357 because of the advantages of 38/357 [plus cheap!].

I have a 30-30 octagon that is a close second. Big punch and tolerable recoil.

Picked from the four I listed yesterday....It's just gotta be the 30Herrett.  I've not tried to load it down to a plinker...but I'm sure it would.  It'll certainly handle anything from small vermin to deer.  I remember when I first heard(or read actually) about the round and thought it was the answer to my dream....and it was!  I already had a Contender in 256Mag which I thought was the cat's meow....but I wanted something with more range and power.  Yep...the 30Herrett is my favorite. ;D  Thank You Bob Milek and Steve Herrett!

7mm Super Mag.  Most of the other calibers are easy to load for and brass is easy to find.  It took a lot of work to get good brass for the 7mm SM and then to work up loads for it.  One of my most accurate 10" barrels and it is satisfying knowing I made the brass, I worked up the loads, to make it one of the best barrels I have.

Favorite? Has to be my 357 Mag barrel..
Remember the nursery story about Goldilocks and the 3 bears?
Well. my 44 mag was too hot.
My 22 was too cold.
My 357 mag is just right.

Thinking along the stories,
My223 barrel has to to be the big bad wolf.
Loaded with Federal ammo, its a lot of Huff and Puff, but it cant blow a house down.

Since I've owned so many...   :-\ ???

Guess I'll have to go with the very first one I ever had, a 38 Special from early-mid '68, because it's the only Contender barrel I shot so much that I wore it out and had to retire it many years ago.   Had it hanging over my reloading bench for years, but in one of the home moves somewhere it got lost in the shuffle.

After it probably the 221 Fireball and/or 218 Bee octagons that I've had.   Both were great backups for P&V hunting for me over the years.    (I've had a bunch of them in both factory and custom barrels).

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

I prefer the longer barrels but my favorite "shorty" is my 10", octagonal, .45 Colt barrel.  She's got a pretty good punch on both ends but is easy to carry and a hoot to shoot nontheless.

My favorite "10" is more like the .357 magnum T/C that I bought back in the late 70's. This one has the  8 & 3/8" long barrel and has an external screw-in choke tube. The choke tube was for use with the .357 magnum "hot shot" ammo that Thompson-Center was promoting at that time. I never did use the "hot shot" ammo, but loaded the .357 magnum with the Speer 146 gr. HJHP bullet and hunted woodchuck with it. I had a Bushnell Phantom 2.5x scope mounted on the barrel, and I hunted woodchucks by walking the perimeters of fields with the Contender. I was totally astounded by how accurate that Contender was!!!!

Because of this, I later graduated to the .22 Remington Jet, and later still, the .221 Fireball (both in 10 inch octagon). I still have all three of the afore-mentioned barrels, BTW.

My preference would be the 22 Hornet followed closely by my 22 LR.  The Hornet is deadly accurate and the 22LR is cheap to shoot.  Both are my favorite plinkin barrels!

I'm just partial to the ten inch tubes, period.  Oh, I have a couple of fourteeners; a 22 scoped with a 40mm rifle scope, a 7-30 and now a 6 TCU on the way.

Hard to choose a favorite though.  Maybe my 10" .357 Herrett.  Shoots great and kicks enough to be fun but doesn't hurt me.  But ........I think any of my ten inch barrels could be my favorite on any given day.  It just depends on what I'm in the mood for.  Contender is a beautiful thang, ain't it?

Truth be told, I asked the question more as therapy because there are days I want to just sell off the 'tenders. But then I go shooting and fall in love all over again, and I wanted someone else to remind me how awesome they are. So thanks all for the validation. I'm down to my last two barrels, and they're my favorites: 10" .357 Max, and 10" .32 H&R Mag. I may ream the .32 for .327, but I just don't know. That's my baby there on the right, wearing a laminated set from Ole Georgia Jim, and a 10" .357 max.

45/410
The 410 is a blast for small game. Using 6's in 9.3 x 74 brass, it will work for turkey hunting and a 45 bullet in the long brass will do anything a 444 or 45/70 will do.

10 " stainless 22 long rifle.  My first Contender barrel.

I have a 357 12 ", but the 10" barrels seem to fit me the best.

I wish T/C still made them.
