Had this in another forum but had no responce hope i can get some here..

Im going to order a mold for the .500 S&W .. I am newer  to reloading but have done it years ago ,,30-06 and 12,20 gage..but never cast my own slugs ..
I have almost all I need but info on a good start for bullet weight some thing good for a pratice round and what i should pour ww/litho/ or harder? I am shooting it in a 12" Encore and looking at Mountain Molds for the mold..

I have yet been able to shoot a 3 shot sub 1" group at 100 yards ...........on any deer!!!!!!

The mold I got from MM drops a 420 grain bullet. Should be good for most anything depending on velocity. I use wheelweights sweetened with 50/50 bar solder.
