"Mustang" model Topper?
« on: April 05, 2010, 02:57:48 AM »
Does anyone remember the MUSTANG version of the Topper? I had one, sold it, now starting to regret it! Ha! Maybe you guys have been discussing it here but I've not seen a post on one.

The model 163 Mustang was made 1965-66, in 30-30, 22" blued barrel, side lever, drilled and tapped, blade front sight, folding rear sight, nickel finished frame, gold pated trigger, straight grip walnut stock with contoured forearm.

Please don't remind me.  I passed on one of these in minty condition a couple years ago at a local gun show. Guy had a cable tie on it so it couldn't be messed with.  He was asking $170.   Aggggghhhhhh!  What was I thinking???

I love the contoured receiver.
I wish H & R would go back to the profiled barrel as an option, at least on the lower pressure rounds. Sure would make them more handy in the woods.
