357 Maximum - Reed's Ammo
« on: April 06, 2010, 02:35:06 PM »
For those that have used ammo from Reed's in their NEF .357 maximums...

How has it shot?
What specific loads have you used?
What is your favorite load?

I'm going to be using factory ammo until I take the plunge into handloading.

I'm interested as well. I want to order some max ammo from Reed's also, but others have recently posted that it shows to be in stock when they ordered but they haven't received it yet. I may call them tomorrow and see what's up.

I recently sold a .357 barrel that was reamed to Maxi. The previous owner shot Reed's 170gr GDSP load into 1" at 100yds. It was a consistently good shooting load.

Thanks, Dinny

Thanks for the replies.  It looks like most of the .357 Max shooters on here roll their own.

I will eventually. I was just going to buy a couple of different loads from Reed's and recycle the brass. I will only shoot the Max loads for hunting, so I won't need much brass.

Well, Reed's replied to my email this evening. Says they have both the Hornady 180 gr. XTP and the Hornady 180 gr. SSP in stock ready to ship. I guess I'll be ordering some tomorrow.

It was only 4 or 5 bucks! I couldn't believe it.  ;D

I had to order a bunch of stuff to justify the $25 Hazmat fee though.  8)
