Tax Day Approaches

Finished & mailed on 4/13/2010.  A new personal best for me, usually headed to a big post office at 1130PM on the fifteen to mail the return.  Even when I get $$$ back I just hate doing the returns as I hate wasting my time jumping through bureacratic hoops.

Did mine at TactAct with eFile option.  Took less than 20 minutes, no stamps involved.  My federal refund was direct deposited to my bank within a week and my state refund was deposited within 2 weeks. Had them finished back in February :).

I love efiling :).

Started off pretty deep, but we made some improvements last year that are helping reduce that some.

What ever happened to Obama's promise that us old retired farts wouldn't have to pay any income tax?  Yeah, I know he's a liar and I didn't believe any of what he promised during the campaign, but how do you suppose the media would handle George Bush if he had made such a promise and then dropped it like, like...well, like he had never said it?

Does anyone else believe that our income taxes need some serious simplifying?  It seems a lot more like social engineering than simple, fair revenue raising.  One shouldn't need a law and accounting degree to figure their stinking taxes.

I use the Adobe tax forms that the Fed and State give me for free.   I mail in the returns because I give them detailed spreadsheets to backup all my Schedule A deductions.   Besides if I wait and have $$$ coming back it shows up during the summer and my kid can spend it at Cedar Point. ;D

As far as an overhaul of the tax code it needs to happen, however the simpler the tax laws are the harder it will be for the politicos to divert funds to their pet causes and/or person well being.  Flat Tax ain't never going to happen.

Yes, all you upper 50% rich, greedy income earners make sure pay your taxes tomorrow. For almost all the other half, tax day is just someone else's problem.

The top 10% of earners pay 73% of all the income tax, since most people vote their pocketbook lets just keep voting the money out of the rich guys pockets, and maybe we can get that top 10% to pay 100%of all taxes.  After all, those greedy, rich guys don't deserve all of their money.
Many people in this country wouldn't have a problem with 10% paying all 100%.
Anyway, isn't it all about getting something for nothing? All you have to do is vote it out of their pocket into yours.
