savage 10fp magazine

i just got my new savage model 10fp in 308 cal and i was wondering if its possible to change the internal box mag into a detatchable box mag. midway has a trigger guard and mag assembly but i dont know if itd work. has anybody here use this before? i was already looking to change the stock so if i do, thats no problem

Yes.  You can contact Sharp Shooter Supply and ask specific questions.  The proprietor had made a business out of offering parts and mods to Savage rifles.  The guys at Savage Shooters Forum recommend him as the guy to work on Savage rifles.

If you call him or email him and tell him what you want to do, he'll tell you what you need to get it done.  As I understand it, with the new centerfeed action, it's simply a matter of switching a few parts.

If those mods are not possible, and the detachable feature is REALLY important to you, I hear the newer offering the .308 Savage EDGE does have the detachable mag feature, fwiw.
