Not too strange but interesting
« on: October 24, 2003, 01:59:36 PM »
Years ago I'm up in the higher elevations of Vermont in a lost old town "bagleyville" in the national forest in an old apple orchard way away from people.  Most hunters don't go up that far.  I'm sitting in front of a brush pile(fallen branches) from about 2pm on very quietly bear hunting. Around 5pm a chipmunk climbs threw the brush pile and gets to the end of a branch sticking out and takes a long look at me and then goes away. A few minutes later a red squirrel goes the same way gets on the branch and looks at me too.  I'm thinking the chipmunk told him??  Then the red squirrel climbs the apple tree in front of me takes an apple that was stuck in the vee of a branch turns it as he eats it, then puts it back into the vee so it stays there and goes away.  The things we see while outdoors in nature?                                                            BigBill

That makes me feel bad, Big Bill.  You see, half the time I can't find my car keys.....like right now.

Nature is so smart??  These critters talk in someway to each other?  They both came to see this big critter "me" ???  With a whole tree of apples it wastes not a one?  It puts the same apple back in the vee of the branch to save for later?  But it came to eat it at around 5pm?? Thats the killer too it ate at suppertime?? When they took turns stareing at me I knew they never seen a human before?  I just had the feeling.  I felt like I was in a cage at the zoo and they were comming to see me? Funny how things can be reversed??                                           BigBill

Life goes by and things we never take the time to realize or think about?? So stop and smell the roses is true in a way!!!
