LCP Feed Proublem
« on: February 12, 2010, 12:41:28 PM »
I have had feed proublems with Speer & Corbon hollow points since day one, 1 or 2 proublems with ball and this with 200 rds shot. I have 4 mags all Ruger, today My grandson and I were trying to find out what is wrong. We found that if you pushed up on the mag every thing would feed , anyone know of a fix other than send it back? If I wonted to just shoot ball I would'nt have a proublem with it, but I don't.

Assuming there is no 'limp wristing' issue, does it have problems with all 4 mags?  That might indicate the problem is with the magazine catch holding mags too low.  If so, you should send it back.  If not, I suggest you put a piece of masking tape on each magazine body or floorplate, label them #1 thru #4, and sort out the offender(s). Bad ones may have an issue (bad batch) with position of the catch cutout.   Send them back.

Given it's intended purpose, you need 100% reliabilty.

Well it got to where it would fail to feed even ball most of the time. Sent to Ruger last Thur. so far could not ask for better service, the Lady I  talked to was very knowledgable and plesent. They emailed Me a shipping lable all I had to do was wrap  the box, stick the lable on and hand it to the UPS man. Will see how the rest goes.

Can't say enough about Ruger service, have had the pistol back for some time and finally got out to shot it. Feeds any thing that I feed it, shot four brands and three types of ammo not one hiccup. Ruger service said that the inner return spring was in backwards.
