Very nice.  The background is soft and easy on the eyes.  The alternating colors on replies is good and will shortly be indispensable.  The contrast is good without being glaring making reading easy.  I like it a lot.

I finally got the color change to show up on mine!
In order for it to get there, I had to clear out all my cookies and restart the PC.

I am done with the color changes to this theme. All I am doing now is going back and fixing the little things that need it, such as the jump to box area, Profile area, members list, bookmarks, links and a few others... I am working on the pagination (Page 1 [2] 3 4 5 ) the << Prev Next >> links and a few others that I know need to be changed so that they can be read. The base colors we have now are the Final colors...

Thanks Heather for all your help with that as I may never have been able to get them right without you.... :-*

I will start on the next theme soon which will be a blue based theme and I will let everyone know as soon as it is ready for testing so those who want to help with it can and those who don't will not have to go through the same type of eye sores as they did with this one.

Kinda crazy how just a couple shades lighter or darker makes such a difference. Before this final change ,it was almost uncomfortable to read here. Now its nice & relaxing. Once again thanks Matt

My last complaint:

When I click on the nice blue "Show new replies to your posts.", it turns white on light tan...virtually disappears. Would prefer it turn gray for the contrast.

I like the Black/Blue on the listings...perfect!

Stop screwing with the database at 10:00 pacific time, lots of people are using the site, not every one lives on the east coast.  It is a bummer to have the site down (data base not accessable) when trying to use this thing.  Larry

No one is "screwing" with the database, the GBO server starts it backups around 10pm CST and they do not finish until around 4am CST sometimes 6am. The database backup has saved us hundreds of times and takes on average of 30 minutes to complete. If the database says it is down it is because the system is backing up and priority is given to the backup process. I will not change this so dont ask. I am online most anytime all day long and have had the system give me the error you are talking about and I can not remember more than a few times that the system was not right back within 2 minutes.  These problems will go away when we change to the new server...

I'm liking what I see! Now wouldn't it be nice if that water up there in the banner had a shimmer to it caused by a nice breeze? I guess that would mean a .gif file. I know, some people are NEVER satisfied!  ::)

UPDATE.....


The New GBO Themes are ready for you guys to use...

There is now a Blue Based Theme as well as the Old GBO theme updated with the new header and feature links in the menu bar;
 Green Bar that has :
 Home | Forums | Help | Search | Profile | Messages | Bookmarks | Calendar | Articles | Links | Chat | Buy/Sell | Logout


To change your theme:
Go to your Profile
Look for the option -- Look and Layout Preferences -- it is the 3rd option under Modify Profile in the left side menu

The first option on that page is -- Current Theme: GBO-Default (Green & Brown) (change) -- Click the word change

This will give you the list of themes that you can use, ignore the one that has no information about it... that is the old forum default and the same as the blue based theme but may still have bugs in it so dont use it...

You can use the "preview" link to the right of each theme to see if you like it... Please note that there is gibberish at the top of these pages which I cant seem to locate and remove but it is not there once you set your profile and leave that area.

Once you decide on a theme select the "use this theme" option and then you are set...

There is a problem with the color or other coding for links in posts.  Until they are referenced, they do not stand out from the ordinary text in Firefox.  They are a dark brown in IE that is not a lot different from the ordinary black text.
