Is anybody successfully hunting off a camo ATV?

I want to go predator hunting and cant walk more than a couple of hundred feet because of disabilities.  I have a chance to join a hunting club and want to hunt just coyotes and bobcats.  Is anyone doing this off a camo or a mobile blind on and or over an ATV/  I have an old JD 5 wheeler with a 4 by 4 box on it.  I am thinking about putting a chair up on it under a ground blind then wrapping it in camo netting.  Any ideas or success with an outfit like this?

On the plus side......you can't keep a good man down!! So, I do commend you for thinking how do I get around this $%#@ walking thing? (I have MS, so I have the same fundamental problem)

Building the box and stringing a cammo netting around it is a good idea. You will just have to be careful of where your going to "park" it. Look for areas where it's going to fit in. You know, big blow-downs of trees or big weed blow-overs that will provide a good background and break up your buggy.

The only other issue is your cart is gas. Not a whole bunch that you can do about that except to make sure the outside of the gas tank is kept clean (use a semi-damp cloth or sponge with a mild soap). It will keep the oders of da motors down to a minimum.

You may want to think about spraying the cart with a "cover scent" to help mask the smells that just naturally come with gas powered anythings. (I wouldn't recommend using skunk). Maybe look at the trapping supply stores and just dilute and spray on a scent. Hey.....it can't hurt. As long as the cost is minimal.

But.....you can't shoot 'em from your living room! Load 'em up and get out there!!

shot a few on the bow hunt you can get pretty close if you don't shut you machine off. my atv isn't camoed.

Couple things to try. 

In my neck of the woods Ranchers are making the big round bales of hay.  If you can get permission to hunt the property the bales are plenty big to hide an ATV allowing you to move a minimal distance and call from the other side of the bale.  Same goes for locations where bales are stored in the field (much of the year).  These areas can be very fertile hunting for predators due to the numbers of mice, voles and rabbits that often feed on this same hay. 

A side benefit on properties being actively farmed is critters get used to seeing, hearing and smelling farm equipment, fuel and people so those factors are not the deal breaker common to more "pristine" environments.

Same can be said for old abandoned homesteds, barns / sheds / corrals.  These can be great locations for predators to hunt and for you to hide your ATV and call from.  If you can find a few such places consider doing a little baiting to help bring fox and coyotes into the areas. 

Time spent visiting farmers / ranchers and obtaining permission to hunt plus
public land scouting could get you into some good hunting without the need build a  blind for your ATV.
