I've got all those calibers and some that aren't listed that I would say are my favorite, but of the one's listed I would have to go with the .243 since that is the one I most often grab.

You can use it for anything from ground hogs, to deer, and short range all the waaaaaaaaay out yonder, and it don't beat you up which is why I like it!
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

45-70 or 280 for me.  I voted 45-70 since 280 was not there.

45 70 is my favorite range gun, but I hunt in a shotgun only state.  If I ever get to hunt deer or pigs with a centerfire it will be the 45 70.

As is from the factory now..on those choices..I'll take the 243..but I am having a 26" 30-06 Handi built right now..The 25-06 or 280 would be my favorites for a standard barrel offered right now.. While the 45-70 is a fun cartridge it has a limited range and not as useful to me..

No set in stone favorite.

This past year it was .444 - at least that's what I carried every day I hunted gun season.  Didn't have any luck this past year.  Last season, it was the 30 bores - 30-06 & 7.62x39 - I shot one deer each using cast bullets (that I cast myself) and neither ran more than 50 yards.  Both calibers were loaded with 173 to 180 gr slugs pushed to 1800-1880fps with home brewed lube & H4895 powder.  The year before that, it was the 357 Mag, although it was loaded with 360 Dan Wesson brass loaded with commercial cast bullets (200gr), that put one down as well.

Still looking for one with the .444

I don't have any of the listed barrels -- and never felt bad about it 'till now...

308 is what I like, and happy with it...the 45-70 is on my list to get -- and would like a 35 whelen .. but hunting - 308...

I had to vote 270 here. No choice because its the only handy besides shotguns that I got. But on that note I would not be afraid to use it to lift a grouses head or drop a zombie bear.
