I am not the expert at all, but I believe the only difference is the barrel is longer.

I have a 2005 Ultra in 223 Rem and it is 22", standard contour and 1:9 twist.  Only differences I can tell are:

Longer scope rail with an adjusting screw & set screw on the front of the rail.  (Think they stopped making the rail a few years back)

Has "Ultra" stamped on the barrel.

I read on one of the threads that all the ultras are standard contour barrels, but do know this for sure.

Twist rates are all listed in the FAQs, Ultras have the same twist as any other model in like chamberings, 223 twist has changed back and forth since 2004.  Ultras have different contours depending on the chambering, Ultra hunters are usually standard contour, Ultra Varmints are bull barrels, usually 24".
