Remington Rand Why so Valuable?
« on: April 18, 2010, 05:46:34 PM »
I notice on the various auction sites that Remington Rand GI 1911s bring premium prices.  This is what I carried in the Mairines in 64.  What makes them worth so much?

It is not so much JUST the RR but many that were made, during WWII, by outsourcesing Colts production to anyone who had the machining to do the work.
There are other companies and some of their stuff is just as sought after.
Good question though.

Remington Rand and Singer manufactured pistols had the reputation of being tighter, more dependable, and accurate.

Another factor is that there were less of them than the Colt manufatured pistols.
