Hey hows everybody doing? This posting is for the people interested in trying out a traditional recurve bow without getting you into dept. I've shot alot of recurve bows over the years and had bows that where good shooters and bad shooters. One of the very best recurves I had was an old shakespear, I don't remember the model, but it was 58" and pulled 40# It was a smooth drawing bow an shot a heavy hunting arrow with extreme accuracy! Next to that was an old bear grizzly also 58" and pulled 47# these old bows I think were made for shooting the heavy arrows, its a great old recurve! It now belongs to my son as I can no longer shoot right hand. Now, I tell ya this, you can go on ebay an find lots of good old recurve bows, but you will not always find a very good deal, to actually obtain a bow thats worth having you will have to pay some for it. Now we come to a little more resent time. After doing some research and checking out the different low cost recurve bows out there. Because they had what I was looking for I decided to buy from 3rivers archery and purchased a takedown Samick bow, this bow cost me $105.oo with the shipping. I figured that was a pretty good deal, when I received my new bow I was very pleased with what I found in the box. This bow feels great in the hand, and is a smooth drawing and forgiving bow! 62" and pulls 40# has limbs that are very well tilled. This is Samicks Polaris model and I purchased this one because of the arrow shelf and handle riser design, and it shoots my heavy hunting arrows very good! Now for a little extra cash they have a recurve they call Sage, black glass on the limbs and a darker wood riser. So all in all there are reasonably priced bows out there for you folks interested in this great form of archery! Whatever way you choose to go, then I hope for you all the best!! scout4<><
