.358 BFG initial results
« on: March 30, 2010, 02:13:02 AM »
Well the .358 BFG Savage conversion has had two trips to the range and it seems to like 200 grain bullets. The 200 grain Barnes bullet went into .4 yesterday. Four groups with different 225 grain bullets averaged 1.3 and more load developement is in order for the bigger bullets. I believe it will make a deer gun.

Sounds good so far. You shooting at 50 or 100?

These groups were shot at 100 yards. Once a few more combinations have been tried then the best of them will be shot at 200 to see if the accuracy holds up.

Finally got the 225 Accubonds out the barrel at 2630 with .5 accuracy at 100 yards. 3 inches high at 100, 0 at 225, and 4 inches low at 275. Now working on getting the velocity up on the 200s.
