Willie Nelson on Larry King Live!
« on: April 18, 2010, 05:49:59 AM »
I'm from Texas, and Willie is pretty popular down here when it comes to music, and I have listened and even used some of his stuff in my music, BUT! WILLIE NELSON IS A POLITICAL IDIOT!.
I listened to this clown on Larry King, and he not only supported Obama, but lint him his name in advertising, and thinks he is a GREAT PRESIDENT.
I listened to his ideology on politics, and farming, and came to the total conclusion, that the man needs to stick to music, and not talk in public, as you then realize that he is much like Tom Hanks, and Robin Williams. Their both spastic, and border on lunacy.
You may all go to hell, I will go to Texas. Davy Crockett

I'm with you on that. It seems most of Hollywood and many of the music industries big names don't know squat about what the government is doing to this country. I enjoy a good movie and love to listen to good music but it sure takes away from the enjoyment knowing what these clowns are saying.

Ol' Willie is a pretty good musician even if country music isn't exactly my thing and he has made a couple or three movies I've enjoyed. But I agree that he and a bunch of people in show business don't have a clue when it comes to real life. When I see a recent photo of Willie it makes me feel good. I don't feel so old and beat up looking when I compare myself to him. He would probably think exactly the opposite as I do though.  ;D

We all know that poor ole willie smoked his brain years ago.  I enjoy most of his music, but have always questioned some of his ploitical ideas.   ::) ::)

I don't question some of his political ideas. I marvel that anyone can be that stupid, and just be one person.

Country music (and gospel and rockabilly) is my thing and I've been a lot of years getting to where I appreciated Willie as a musician at all. I do like his movies, and I like his songs when someone like Patsy Cline does them. AND, Being over 60, I feel like a kid when I see his current pictures.

Some folks just need to stay off the screen when not performing.

Sorry - being listed with a political party doesn't mean they know anything about what is going on in Washington, D.C.

Well slim, I hate to tell ya, but Toby Kieth is a Democrat, and freely admits it. As far as the interview with Willie on Larry King, I don't know how Willie could have made it any plainer that he was an Obama supporter. Maybe the interview is on Youtube or something.

Anytime I hear a person, especially a celebrity, declare themselves to be a Democrat, Republican, or whatever, makes me think they don't think about politics or politicians very much. Don't know how anybody with half a brain can paint themselves as one or the other. 'Course in Willy's case, the smoke gets in his eyes and he can't see clearly! ;)gypsyman

shoot i ll just concern myself with my own thinking an vote..vote
still like willie singing,, although unlike some ,,it took a while before i developed a liken for it..
these new singers gotta last before i ll really pay much attention to thier singing an such..
i pretty much stay with the singers of my day.. whether it be old gold ,country, folk or what ever..
give me twitty ,faron young, lorretta lyn,ema lou an george jones ..just to mention a few..
i was playin george jones  gosple music, one day.. a died in the wool church goer,, said he ain t worthy of singing gospel songs..i thought here you are,, so uppity an you don t have a clue as to what chistianity is about.. its not about judging ,its about love, forgiveness an the only way to ever set at his feet..
the kinda thinking he was showing ,,is why folks don t give christianity a chance to work miracles in thier lives..the judge job is already taken brothers..slim

I've liked Willie's music more as I've gotten older, but yeah, I saw him on an interview talking about internet law and the like over 10 years ago (it was an interview on ZDTV if any of you remember that network) and concluded back then that he was an idiot outside of his realm.

Oh well.  I'll still listen to his music.  I don't think he has the star power to really influence too many people these days anyways, and he certainly doesn't have the sex appeal of Sarah Palin ;).

Don't know why you all are so surprised?   Most long haired, bandanna wearing, guitar playing, dope smoking, hippies are liberals.

That said I think he is or at least was a great song writer and at one time a heck of a classical guitar player.

now whether i aggree withim is my choice..
way to much american blood is soaked into battlefields ,all over the world preserving freedom of opinion ,speech an the right to bear arms..for me to let it all to have been in vain..slim
