Choices choices!

OK Fellers I have a couple of questions for you.
I have been shooting a 7-30 waters in the form of a 14" Hunter barrel for the last 6 years. Taken several Bucks and 1 doe at ranges from 20 yards
to 200. I am looking at replacing this barrel with one from Bullberry in the 7-30 improved. I know they have a strong rep for accuracy but I am a little paranoid about losing the brake. I will order a 15" Bull configuration which will gain me 3" of usable barrel and more weight too but the Hunter is such a pussycat to shoot! I do not want much of any increase in recoil . Has anyone shot a 14" Hunter with muzzle-tamer and a 15" Bull without brake? How does the recoil compare???
I can shoot and manage the Hunter barrel well and want to keep the recoil similar.
My second question is this. As much as I like the 7-30 the 6.5 mini-dreadnought from SSK has some awsome looking #'s. Anyone out there got experience with both cartridges in the field on live game and want to share there thoughts????

Fred (Bullberry) offers a couple of different custom muzzlebrakes - if you are that concerned about it, just have him machine one in your new barrel for you.

The 7-30W is a pussycat to me without a brake, so I wouldn't put up with the noise personally.

For the six and a half's, I went with a 6.5 Super Bower/Bullberry and a 6.5JDJ from SSK.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

i think you'll be fine with no brake. there will be much less noise, or so they say. i don't use a brake myself on a 30-30 ackley improved contender(130gr @2588fps) or 7-08 encore(120gr@2800fps). they are very tolerable in recoil, and as ladobe said "pussycats" :D

My 14 inch bull without a break from VVCG kicks way less than my 14 inch hunter in 44 mag with a break!  You don't need the break unless you are really recoil sensitive or have hand/shoulder issues.

Have you considered the Gary Reeder 7 GNR? My favorite super improved 7mm. Shoot factory 7-30 waters or virgin brass of your choice to fire form. Rechamber or custom barrel (costly but top quality that is worth it). My custom barrel will cluster @ 100yds!
