Maybe some help for older eyes and iron sights???
« on: May 12, 2010, 09:19:49 PM »
http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2010/05/breakthrough-microsight-technology-improves-iron-sights/

link goes to page describing new small diameter fresnel lense type sight that allows both sites AND target to be in focus at the same time.  I guess it's not REALLY an iron sight but it's not a scope either.  Looks like it would replace the rear sight with a small lense.  Interesting...

If it works as advertized, I need one ASAP.  :)

I've found that the little peeps that attach to my glasses work wonders.  Just a pain to get them in the right spot.

Says that the Microsight will be produced by Apollo in Upstate NY.  I sent Apollo an email to try and find out when (if) the device is coming to market.

Guys, when I hit fifty and went to bi-focals I had to make a change.  I did not have problems with my guns that had scopes, but the ones that had iron sites I no longer could see to aim properly.  I converted all of the iron sites to peep sites, curred the problem.  With the peep site I really don't need my glasses either.  Looking through the peep my eyes can focus just fine with or without my glasses.  I can see the front site and the target well.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Sourdough , The peep sight worked for me for a good while, but now am to the point I have to have these cataracts removed! I have an appointment to get it done and I can't wait.
I am making do with peeps and the thing you put on your glasses, that is the same as using a peep for my
pistols. But if this eye surgery dose as good for me as it did for my friend, I will be in hog heaven!
