DPMS 223 Upper on Remington R-25 308 Lower??? Can I Do This???

I have a Remington R-25 in .308 coming in the mail.  I have never owned any AR-15 type rifle before.

The Cheaper Than Dirt website has a DPMS AR-15 .223 upper on sale for $399.97.

Do I understand these rifles correctly... that I can buy the .223 upper and it will fit on the .308 Remington (made by DPMS) lower???  Do I need anything else besides magazines in .223 to make it function properly?

No the R25 is built on the ar10 size reciever not the ar15.
